Rebirth

I lie in the fragments of my life, gasping for the new air burning my weak lungs. My limp body, stained with the blood from my struggles, aches as muscles are forced to move away from the comfort of fetal seclusion. Light burns my eyes, and I weep for the safety of what I had. But my shell has been broken. I have been reborn.
